Children's Learning has provided developmental programs and products for
preschool and school age children in Minnesota since 1991. We are parents and
early childhood education specialists that have been active in the Twin Cities
early childcare community since 1989.
We believe that early childhood is a critical period of life that builds the
foundation for future growth. Scientific studies of brain development confirm
this to be true.
Step Up To Soccer:
We started Step Up To Soccer to fill a void: the need for a daycare based
soccer program that focuses on the developmental needs of young children.
As a result, it has grown dramatically. Today, over 900 children participate
in Step Up to Soccer at more than 50 different childcare centers.
Step Up To Soccer recruits coaches with technical skill and work experience
with young children. We provide the coaches with a field-tested curriculum made
up of a systematic progression of activities. There is a distinct lesson plan
for children at three different developmental stages: young preschool,
preschool and school age.
The goal of the program is to use athletics as a means of physical development
for all participants. We make the activities fun, but also teach real skills as
the basis of self-esteem and physical confidence.
